"I get you - Children and War" - Photo Exhibition at the Schleswig-Holstein Landtag of 9 March to 5 April 2011

Im Landeshaus Kiel ist ab 9. März die Multimedia-Ausstellung „ich krieg dich – children affected by war“ des Kinderhilfswerks World Vision zu sehen.



Landtagspräsident Torsten Geerdts eröffnet die Ausstellung am 8. März um 18:00 Uhr im Schleswig-Holstein-Saal zusammen mit Ekkhard Forberg, dem Experten für Friedensförderung und Konfliktbearbeitung von World Vision Deutschland. Abgerundet wird das Eröffnungsprogramm durch eine Aufführung des Theaterstücks „Geraubte Kindheit – Kindersoldaten im Kongo“, das die Klasse 7 b des Immanuel-Kant-Gymnasiums Bad Oeynhausen unter Leitung von Dr. Franziska Fleinghaus einstudiert hat.

In more than 40 countries currently dominate wars or armed conflicts. In many of these countries and in most refugee camps is more than half the population of minors. They are always involved involuntary and completely inadequately protected from violence. They suffer hunger, injuries and the loss of any sense of security often live for many years outside of structured and everyday forms of education.

The exhibition "I get up - children affected by war" is an offer to adults and young people to think about using specific fates and themed bars in the situation of children in war inside. It's not about the visitor through images of violence to shock. The exhibition aims to raise empathy for the suffering of children and move people to action.

"Without the youth, without children can not free themselves from conflicts burdened countries in the spiral of violence. Therefore, it is to give children more attention and also to listen to them, "said Christoph Schmidt weapons, CEO of World Vision Germany, the concern.

The exhibition also demonstrated using project examples ways in which children can be strengthened and how they should be integrated into peace strategies. In each case, a project example from the part of health, education and daily life was chosen.

Das Wohlergehen und die Rechte der Kinder stehen im Mittelpunkt der Arbeit von World Vision. Das vor rund 60 Jahren gegründete Hilfswerk setzt sich in fast 100 Ländern für eine Bekämpfung von Armut, für gewaltfreie Konfliktlösungen und gerechtere Rahmenbedingungen für Entwicklung ein.
